Mums and Daughters Week 2008
Reading
with their children regularly is one of the most important things parents can do to help their children be successful at school and in later life. Mums and Daughters Week is a week of events in school to encourage this support for reading. Throughout the week there are events to promote reading. Mums and daughters are encouraged to visit the local library, mums are invited to spend an afternoon helping in school on an art activity and on Friday the week is celebrated in a special assembly where all those taking part receive a certificate to record the event.
‘Mum’ can be any older female including partners, grandparents and older sisters who have a link with the child
